Cam Orbits had the opportunity to interview with Natalie (a.k.a. MissMetal) out of Europe, 26-year-old creator who has been working in the adult entertainment industry since 2017.

Natalie: “I started as a camgirl, but after being introduced to the wider and welcoming side of this industry and community, I decided to become a clip artist and creator in 2019.

missmetal miss metal high quality kinky content

I love to deliver high-quality kinky content and explore all my sexuality in the custom videos requested to me!

I’m a XXX & fetish clip producer and sensual Domme, but usually I just tell people around me that I work in web-marketing (which in itself, isn’t a lie either)! ;)”

What is your preferred platform? Where do you connect best with clients and potential clients?

I can’t choose only one platform, as every platform has helped me in some way to thrive!

I do have my own website, Miss-Metal.com, where fans and customers can talk to me on a daily basis, access exclusive content, keep track of what’s new and (best of all) receive my free newsletter in their inboxes!

Talk to me about the early days and learning how to run your business. What was your biggest challenge getting started in this industry?

My biggest challenge starting out would have to be actually taking a day off per week… I still am a workaholic, so I still love working, editing content, taking pictures, replying to e-mails, writing down ideas, discussing ideas with customers, everything but… There’s a thin line between being at home and working at home… It’s easy to distract yourself with work on your day off, just by looking at your phone, which can seriously affect your mental health.

Forcing myself to take a day off per week (catching some air outside, drinking some wine) has actually improved my creativity and love for the job, plus prevented me from burnout – still, it’s my biggest challenge even to this day!

What would you say has been the secret to your success?

Consistency, hard work, remembering the human on the other side of the screen! 🙂

How has working in porn changed you as a person or affected the way you see yourself?

My self-esteem has improved dramatically since I started working in the industry, and with it came a better judgment of myself and others.

How has your work affected your daily life and relationships with family and friends?

Other than the time I spend working, none of my relationships (either with my family and friends) has changed… I have a very close family and a very close group of friends and, even if I didn’t realise it at first, work is RARELY a topic among us. I don’t keep my job a secret to my closest people, but even so, it’s rarely a topic and we never run out of topics to talk about.

Actually, as I write this, I just realised I’m very lucky to have very special people around me who don’t care about the jobs other people have. Work doesn’t define you as a person and there’s just so much more to life than work or how much you make! 🙂

How has your work affected your view of society or perspective of porn in the context of the world today?

I was always a curious person, trying to discover everything that’s out there and eager to learn more and more… So, porn and the adult industry were never a foreign concept even before I started working in it. Once I was in it though… I think I have to admit that this is probably the most transparent work community in the world! You just say it as it is, call everything by their names, there’s no need to embelish anything. Keep it real and clean of BS, so at the end of the day everyone saves time and money, and no one gets offended.

What do you think is the most important issue facing the industry today? What can we do?

The most important issue we are facing today is the discrimination by the major payment processors, which is preventing us to receive our earnings in some platforms and limiting our profit in others… All we can do now is to make sure we have all our documentation correctly and in order, so the banks can soon see us as trustworthy workers like everyone else.

Consistency, hard work, remembering the human on the other side of the screen! 🙂

What are your thoughts about the future and continuing evolution of the adult entertainment industry?

I can only hope that the adult industry comes back in full force and strong as ever, specially after facing all these adversities, for the past 2 years.

We are all hard-working, versatile people, fighters! And as always, we will evolve!

What do you wish you’d known about the adult entertainment industry before you took the plunge?

Before I joined the clip industry, I wish I knew that starting off with a good quantity and variety of videos (instead of the recommended 5) would help me to get the most of my exposure as a newbie, and that, doing so, would have helped me launch and find my best-selling content faster! Also, affiliate links, I wish I would have gave them a double look and shared them with my friends sooner!

What is the most important piece of advice you would offer someone just getting started in the industry?

Light up your work space! Not only it prevents you from having sore eyesight, customers like seeing details! Any cameras or webcam is good enough to start, but it you won’t get its full potential without good lighting! LED Panels, ring lights, an extra lamp here and there, there’s many options at various prices!

Our society has a lot of opinions about sex work. Tell us something about your work that would surprise the lay person who doesn’t know better.

Despite the controversy, I am not obliged to do anything that I’m uncomfortable with.

And customers who ask if I do X or Y, are never persistent, they always respect and comprehend my limits.

Have any stories to share? Just one or two. Make us laugh or cringe, whatever you want. 🙂

I have a funny clip producing story that happened just last year. I live and work in a city apartment, hopefully I’ll soon find some place more isolated and quiet, but until then I’ll work with what I got… So, I was doing a custom video, where the client asked me to scream in a vampire role-playing video, a scream both sexy and threatening. I was so caught-up in this idea, and finding the perfect scream to film, that I eventually recorded and screamed more than a couple of times… Until… My doorbell rings! It was my next door neighbour, she wanted to make sure if everything was fine, because she heard a few screams coming from my apartment… I’m not a good liar, specially under stress, so I ended up saying that everything was fine, it was just my cat in heat… I’m pretty sure she didn’t believe it, but it’s too late to back down now… LOL!

What are you working on next?

Right now I’m working on more custom videos requests, but I want to explore some more ass niches out there. My ass is my money-maker, but it’s always fun to explore what else is out there! 😉

  1. Great read! I’ve been struggling with renting my own studio but my current budget is going towards other accessories. I’m in the same situation so being more free and expressing myself as I wish is kinda hard, the walls of my apartment are extremely thin…
