We interviewed Francesca Bangz, 24 year old webcam model based in North Texas. She has been working in the online adult industry for the past several months and has graciously agreed to answer some questions about her experience.
Question: “Let’s talk about the early days and learning how to run your business. What were some of your biggest challenges?”
“Some of my biggest challenges are gaining customers and them returning to buy again.
If they do return, it seems to be months later. The others who don’t are to never be heard from again, disappeared into the thin air. Then, the issue is when you’re discussing your very first purchase with them the customer is extremely wary of even purchasing with you in the first place because you have no reputation or history to prove you are a legitimate seller.”
Question: “Can you identify any ideas you once held about the world, and how your work in the adult industry has changed or affected these?”
Francesca: “For as long as I can remember, I have been apart of the BDSM community.
When I came into the adult entertainment industry, I already knew to expect my handful of weirdos and oddballs. However it isn’t nearly as bad as I expected.
Sure, you get plenty of clients who ask for some restricted areas of play but for the most part its seems to be lonely men who just want someone to chat with from time to time and give them a sense of purpose. Or the men who are married and don’t receive the type of affection at home and they don’t want to cheat on the wife so they result to using the internet to outsource their needs.”
Question: “How has your work in the adult industry changed you as a person or affected your personality?”
Francesca: “It hasn’t much changed anything about me, it’s showed me more about myself though. I knew I liked the taboo side of sex but I didn’t know I was into way more things than I originally led myself to believe. It took me a few years to get the courage to actually decide to pursue any type of employment in the adult entertainment industry, but once I did it was as if the flood gates opened up to the sexual world we live in.
I’m getting more and more comfortable with myself and I’m able to flow more freely during certain scenarios than I was able to before.”
Question: “How has your work changed or affected your personal relationships with family and friends?”
“My mom already knew that I was looking into working in the porn industry and she laughed and joked about it.
Few months, maybe a year went by and she brought the subject up again. This is how I knew she wouldn’t care what I did as long as it was what I wanted to do and it made me happy. She knows I am a sexual beast and I need to be tamed from time to time….. Or I may need to tame someone else LOL”
Question: “What is the most positive thing that has come into your life since beginning your journey in the adult industry, that you attribute to the work you do?”
Francesca: “I’m still in the beginning stages of this journey but I’ll have to say that it has made my private, home, married sex life a lot easier. We got married and six months later I began cam modeling because I had told him about the prior porn occasions and such and he encouraged me to follow my pussy… er I mean my dreams.
It has helped me become more at ease with myself and my abilities in the bedroom.
Plus, happy husband – happy life… Right? LOL ”
Question: “Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years? How does the adult industry factor into your future goals?”
Francesca: “Honestly, right now its a coin flip between owning my own taco truck and travelling the world doing different types of festivals and fairs, or having established myself well enough in the adult entertainment industry and be making movies or possibly having made and successfully be running my own camgirl site, where we can broadcast, chat with guests (outside of our chat rooms), have a forum/blog section for both models and guests, be able to promote yourself and your fellow models, and oh so many more attributes. The taco truck has been an idea for about four years now. I was in my freshman year of college when I realized it may be something I wanted. Then I wasn’t able to return to school my junior year since my grandpa had passed so in memory of him, the taco truck will live on and see the world one day. HEY!
May even be running my own website and slinging tacos all in the same breath!”
Question: “Our society has a lot of preconceived ideas about sex work. Tell us something about you or your work that would surprise someone who doesn’t know better.”
Francesca: “BDSM!! Okay, where do I begin? The world has this outlook on the BDSM community as if we are the awful, nasty, disgusting people of the world… Oddly enough, we are some of the most loving, caring, and gentlest people you will ever meet!
Yeah, so we get a little out of hand in the bedroom. But, for fuck’s sake, are we suppose to just lay there and sweat our whole lives? Or should we embrace the body we have and explore it to the fullest?
Bending and pulling it, testing all of its senses and qualities, and seeing just how far you can push yourself and your body can be easier and a lot of fun given you are doing so with someone you trust and who knows the rules and boundaries you’ve placed for not only yourself but them too.”
Question: “What do you think is the most important piece of wisdom you could possibly impart on someone just getting started in the industry?”
“Just to be yourself, be honest and open with all your clients, and don’t agree to ANYTHING you aren’t comfortable with doing!
Regardless of how much the client offers to pay you! Trust me, its not about the money. The more money hungry you are, the less clients you’ll obtain.”
